ZELLA FREEMAN SEAY

Zella Freeman Seay of Oakdale, Tennessee, passed away December 25, 2011. She was born February 12, 1926, in Del Rio, Tennessee, to Bailey and Sally (Duckett) Freeman. She and her husband, Clayton McDaniel Seay, were married October 11, 1944, and remained married until his death on June 11, 1994. She lived her life as she chose to live it-as a faithful wife to her husband, as a devoted and caring Mother and Grandmother, and as a Christian woman (who had studied and read the Bible through in its entirety).

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her five children-Irene (and Coy) Williams of Knoxville, Marsha (and Terry) Futrell of Kingston, Larry (and Rita) Seay of Chuckey, Virginia (and Steve) Barton and Lacy (and Donna) Seay of Oakdale; seven grandchildren-Chan (and Danielle) Williams of Knoxville, Melanie (and Rob ) Sellers of Johnson City, Suzanne Futrell of Alexandria,
Virginia, Lori Henry of Chuckey, Christopher (and Brooke) Barton of Westel, Darren (and Nichole) Barton of Kingsport, and Daniel (and Allison) Seay of Oakdale; and twelve great-grandchildren-Ian, Chance, and Macie Williams, Bailey and Clay Gwinn, Sydney Henry, Alexis and Emorie Barton, Sophia and Emerson Barton, and John Clayton and Carter Seay; and one sister, Ethel Harrell of Tampa, Florida.

Heartfelt thanks to her dedicated and kind caregiver for the past five years, Diane Voyles.

Graveside services will be held at Roane Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, December 28, at 11:00 am.
