Wilma Headden

Wilma Jean Pogue Headden of Harriman, formerly of Oakdale, passed away Friday August 15, 2014 at Parkwest Hospital surrounded by the love of her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Walter Y. Headden; parents, Bill and Pauline Holland Pogue; sister Gaile Pogue Martin and brother Ronnie Joe Pogue.

She is survived by children: Traci Headden Brown and husband Kerry of Daphne, AL; Regina Headden of Harriman; Tammi Headden Cofer and husband Eddie of Rockwood; Melissa Headden Coley and husband Frank of Harriman; and Matt Headden of Oliver Springs; Grandchildren: Christy Brown Price and husband Corey; Caitlin and Cassie Brown; Jessica Coffey Buck and husband Donnie; Samantha Coffey Taylor and husband Matt; Trevor Cofer; Wyatt, Paige, and Jenna Coley. Great grandchildren: Olivia Coffey, Autumn Taylor, Loretta (Lolo) Price, and Vivian Buck. Siblings: Billie Hannah of Harriman; Leslie (Paul) Yeary of Oakdale; John (Frank) Pogue of Chattanooga; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Jean worked in the Oakdale community for many years, working with youth sports and volunteering at Oakdale School where she was a teaching assistant for many years. She was also a member of Oakdale First Baptist Church where she served wherever she was needed.

A celebration of life will be held in the fellowship hall of Oakdale First Baptist Church from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Saturday August 16, 2014. The family will have a private cercmony to bury her ashes next to Walter's at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember her may mail a donation to the Headden Family Scholarship Fund through the Oakdale Alumni Association at 434 Hillside Drive #19 Harriman, TN 37748.
