God called Bill home on March 27th. He was born in Deerlodge, Tennessee, the son of the late Mary Houston Capps and Benjamin Capps. He was preceded in death by his brothers Bruce, Arnold, and Hubert, and son-in-law John Ratcliff. Along with significant other, Wanda Richards. He was the father of Tammy "Sammy" Ratcliff of Crossville, Tennesseee and Tanya "Sissy" Brien of Orlando, Florida. He was the grandfather of Dr. Stephen "Buckshot" Denny, Jerrod "the Bear" Albright, Amanda "Mandy" Denny, Haylin Ethridge, affectionately known as "the Brat", and great-granddaughter Oriauna Albright. He was also known as "Uncle Bill" to numerous nephews and neices.
Bill retired from General Motors in Hamtrack, Michigan after nearly 35 years of work as a plumber and pipe fitter. He served his country as a paratrooper in the Army for 4 years after enlisting at the young age of sixteen. Bill received his Associate in Applied Science Degree with honors from Schoolcraft College in Livonia, Michigan . Bill was a quiet and humble man who loved the Lord. He was a very devoted father and grandfather.
Bill will be greatly missed by many family and friends.
The family will receive friends at Schubert Funeral Home, Sunbright, Tennessee from 6:00 to 8:00pm on Friday March 29, 2013.
The funeral service will be held at Union Grove Church in Glades, Tennessee from 12:00pm on Saturday March 30, 2013 with Brother Perry Spurling leading the service.
