Warren Duncan

Warren Eugene Duncan passed away October 12, 2014 at Parkwest Hospital surrounded by his family at his bedside. He has been a resident of Ben Atchley State Veterans' Home for the past 16 months as a result of Parkinsons Disease and a stroke. Warren was born February 10, 1933 in Harriman, TN. He was a lifelong resident of Joyner Community and a member of Union Baptist Church in Joyner. He was the previous owner of Duncan Bros. General Store and retired from Martin Marietta in 1994. He was preceded in death by parents, William Ernest and Mary Allen Duncan, Brothers: Burl, Randal and Elwood Duncan

He is survived by his wife Bobbie Evans Duncan of 59 years
Son: Greg Duncan and wife Jeanne of Knoxville, Tennessee
Daughter: Kim Hyde and Husband Gil of Palm Springs, California
Sister: Imogene Wilson of the Joyner Community
Grandchildren: Alex and Andrea Duncan of Knoxville, Tennessee

He is a Korean War Veteran. He proudly served in the U.S. Army, SFC with honor and distinction for 6 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 149 in Wartburg for 61 years.
A grand ole soldier and good man has left us. He will be missed but never forgotten.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 14, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00PM at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg, Tennessee. Funeral Services will follow at 7:00PM with Rev. John Slater and Rev. John Justice officiating. Graveside services will be in the Union Cemetery at 11:00AM, Wednesday, October 15, 2014.
Pallbearers will be Alex Duncan, Dwayne Duncan, Anthony Duncan, Jeff Foster, Scotty Evans and Leamon Woods.
