Wanda Nelson

Wanda June Lane Nelson, passed away peacefully at her home on November 19, 2024 after many health issues.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Clifford Nelson; mother Minnie and father Gibson Lane.

Wanda was truly a wonderful, kind and thoughtful mother and grandmother who loved her kids, grandchildren, and great grandchildren very much. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and cooking for her family and enjoyed flea markets and yard sales. One of the highlights of her life was being cast as an extra in the movie “October Sky” in 1998 when it was being filmed here in Morgan County. 

Wanda is survived by her sons Roger (Mary) Nelson, Randy (Lanita) Nelson and Steve; grandchildren Amanda (Esan) Hamby and James Nelson; great grandchildren Dillon (Kristy) Nelson, Charlee Nelson, Malory Hamby, and Lindsey Nelson; great grandchildren Easton, Bristol, Kingslee, Ely, and Allie. And a host of extended family and friends.

The family will have a private graveside at Forestner Cemetery in Lancing.
