Vikki Leona Ward Sandlin, 47, of Wartburg, Tn passed away May 30, 2021.
She is proceeded in death by grandmother, Minnie White "Granny" and son, Michael Bradshaw.
She is survived by her parents, Kathryn Ward, Jerry Ward and stepmother Barb. Her children, Kristin Scarborough, Tyler Scarborough (and wife Hannah), Emily Freytag (and husband Cory), Mandi Lee, and stepdaughters Sara and Erica. Grandchildren Amelia Kyler & John Sawyer Scarborough. Sisters Cheryl Lane (husband Dusty), Bobbi (Scott) McBroom, Holly and Laura Ward, nieces, and nephews Whitney Dyer (Shane), Lindsay Blalock (Cody) and Jordan Lane. There are also many cousins, relatives, and friends Vikki loved dearly that were not mentioned.
Vikki was a unique person who made a lasting impression after she met you. Most of those who knew her loved her, and even the ones who didn't never could forget her. She was beautiful, kind, intelligent, and most of all extremely hilarious. Her kids loved to hear her stories and long jokes and will cherish the memories made with her.
She was a talented writer and better storyteller and she made people laugh with her and for those who had the privilege to read some of her original stories know how powerful, raw, honest, and moving they were.
Although the family is grieving, we would like to look back and laugh at her many shenanigans as she would have wanted. Once, she offended a man taking a nap at a bus stop by offering him money thinking he was homeless and sped away laughing when he said he had a job. Another time, she started an "all candy diet" and insisted there was a "science" behind it..and it actually worked. No matter what the situation was, it usually started with "you're not gonna believe this" and by the time she finished, you were hurting with laughter to which she would keep adding because she loved getting that reaction from her people.
If you knew Vikki, you know her favorite band was Motley Crue and one of her favorite songs begins with "You know I'm a dreamer, but my hearts of gold" and ends with "I'm on my way, set me free home sweet home". We pray she is happy and has her long awaited, deserved peace at home sweet home. She will be so missed.
The family will receive friends Thursday, June 3, 2021, at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg from 1:00-2:00 p.m. with a graveside service to follow at Union Cemetery in the Joyner Community.
Schubert Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Vikki Leona Ward Sandlin.
