Heavens Gates welcomed Mrs. Vida Elmajean Wilson Parris, age 81 on Saturday, February 13, 2016. Awaiting her there with Jesus will be her late husband, Cecil Edward Parris, as well as the eight brothers and sisters that went before.
A longtime resident of the Stephens Community, she enjoyed the fellowship of Big Mountain Church where she was a member.
Despite a long battle with cancer and other numerous health problems, her loving nature and sweet smile remained through God's grace and her faith in Him.
She was a shining light to those fortunate enough to have known her. No amount of words can describe how much she will be missed by those who remain behind.
She took great pride in her family having been blessed with three children, Gary Cecil Parris of the Stephens Community, Larry Kenneth Parris, Sr. of Petros, and Mary Jeannie Freeman of Maryville.
Two brothers, Carl Wilson of the Stephens Community and Clifford Wilson of Oakdale.
There also are 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren that will greatly miss their "Granny Jean".
Special friends, Melinda Hardin, Kenneth May and Mildred Freeman
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 from 12-1:30 pm Schubert Funeral Home Wartburg. Funeral services will follow . Internment will be at the Stephens Cemetery.
