Vennis Wilson, age 73, gained his angel wings on January 21st 2017. He was a member and deacon of Meadowview Baptist Church for several years. He loved going to gospel singings to sing and play his guitar. In his spare time he loved to spend time with his family and papaw’s boys. He owned S&M Body shop for several years and also worked at Futrell’s Used Cars for 32 years. Working on cars was his passion. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Dewey Wilson, Sr and Virgie May Housley Wilson; four brothers and seven sisters.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Lillian Wilson; daughter Kimberly (Stephen) Potter; grandchildren: Steven Potter of Lancing, Nichole Griffith of Kingston, and Arminda (Lyndon) Williams of Wartburg; precious grandbabies: Caleb Potter, Bailey Griffith, and Brently Williams; god-daughter Mary Willis; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.
The family will receive friends Tuesday January 24 from 6:00-8:00 at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg. The funeral will be Wednesday January 25 at 2:00 p.m. at Meadowview Baptist Church with Bro. Delmer Keeton, Bro. James Foster, and Bro. Ralph Nance officiating. Graveside services will follow at Morgan Memorial Garden in Wartburg.
