Ms. Valerie Jean Mace, 59, passed away suddenly Friday, July 7, 2017 from heart failure due to other complications. For over 14 years she has been the loving and beautiful common-law wife of Rocky Warren from Petros-Joyner.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Steven and Natalie, both teachers.
She is survived by her sister in her hometown of Hoopeston, Illinois.
Valerie was a strong, unique, and wonderful woman who loved everyone, and loved her Savior Jesus Christ. She loved her life and her friends very much, and she loved me and blessed my life in too many ways to count. She had a special place in her heart for all animals, and cared for all of them, especially her fur-babies, Ke-Ke, Boo-Boo, and Pippen. She had many physical struggles and much pain in her life that she did not deserve, but she tried not to dwell on the past. She was one of the most thoughtful, loving and unjudgemental person I’ve ever met. Valerie was small in stature, but her heart was a big as all outdoors. I was so proud of her for so many things I cannot count them all. She was the bright light and beautiful music of my life; we planned to be married someday. I loved her with all my heart and soul. My beautiful beloved Valerie will be in my heart until I can go to see her again someday. I will love her the rest of my life. May our Lord Jesus Christ take her to his bosom and wipe away all her pain.
If you want to honor her life, make a donation to animal welfare agencies and look out for the welfare of the many neglected and abandoned animals of Morgan County…
