Sue Anne Bradley Liles of Petros, TN

Sueanne Bradley Liles, age 90, departed her earthly home on January 9, 2023.  She joined her beloved husband of almost 65 years, Edward Ralph Liles in her heavenly home following a prolonged illness.  She passed away peacefully surrounded by her devoted daughters. 

Sueanne is survived by her daughters Sherry Liles of Petros TN and Theresa Liles Hall (Marvin) of Signal Mountain, TN. Never were grandchildren more cherished and loved than Jonathan Hall (Hannah) of Ooltewah, TN, David Andrew Hall (Emily) of Liberty Hill, TX, Matthew Hall of Signal Mountain and great grandson Skyler Hall of Ooltewah, TN.

Sueanne is also survived by her brothers J.W. Bradley of Wartburg, TN, Leon Bradley (Karen) of Clinton, TN, and Bobby Bradley (Zona) of Tazewell, TN.  She is also survived by sisters-in-law Judy Layne of Joyner, TN,  and Carolyn Liles of Petros, brother-in-law Bobby Weiford of Petros as well as many nieces and nephews and a multitude of extended family members and friends.

She was proceeded in death by parents Judson and Irene Bradley and sister Jackie Hart (Howard).

Ms. Sueanne loved children.  Not surprisingly, she found many opportunities to give of herself to local youth. As a school bus driver, substitute teacher, kindergarten aide at Petros-Joyner Elementary, and faithful Kool-Aid kid for Vacation Bible School, she touched an entire generation. 

In her later years, she remained active in support of Petros senior citizens. She was actively engaged in raising funds for the new facility.  She also was a regular volunteer at the Rock Mission – her brownies were always in demand!  Sueanne enjoyed a unique opportunity playing an extra along with other members of the Petros community in the movie October Sky. 

Sueanne was a faithful and dedicated member of Petros Baptist Church.  She sang in the choir, taught in Sunday school, and served in numerous other ways as needed for more than 60 years. She constantly sought opportunities to comfort, support, and minister to others.

With a ready smile, encouraging words, and unwavering generous spirit, Sueanne  will be  greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know her. 

The family will receive friends Monday, January 16, 2023 at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg from 12-2:00 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Jim West officiating.  Interment will follow in the Petros Cemetery in Petros.

The family would like to thank the staff at Quality Private Duty Care for their kind, attentive care over the past several years.
