Steven Montross

Steven Duane Montross, 59 Muncie, Indiana, passed away suddenly, February 24, 2013.
Steve grew up in Morgan County and graduated from Coalfield High School in 1972. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked for many years for the Tennessee Department of Correction at both Brushy Mountain Prison and at Morgan County Correctional Complex before moving to Indiana. There, he worked for the Indiana Department of Corrections in several different capacities, most recently, as a State Parole Agent.
He was a member of the Middletown Masonic Lodge #271
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marilyn Sue Briggs and James Montross, and his grandmother, Kate Holloway Briggs.
He is survived by his wife, Anita Swain of Muncie, Indiana. His children, Marilyn Richardson (Charles), Daron Montross, Stephanie Goodman (Phillip) and Mike Swain. His grandchildren, Jared Richardson, Courtney Richardson, Bethany Bunch, Trenton Montross, Cayden Goodman, and Madison Richardson.
He is also survived by his sisters Katie Montross, Elizabeth Ward (Mark) and Diane Walker (Jeff) and his brother David Montross (Debbie). His aunt Edna Pansy Briggs Ward as well as several cousins extended family members
In accordance with the family's wishes, a memorial service will be held on a future date at Kubley Cemetery in Lancing, Tennessee.
