Sammy Ruth McPeters, of Wartburg, TN

Sammy Ruth Greene McPeters passed away peacefully in the company of her children on Wednesday, June 3, 2020.  She was born December 31, 1926 to Lillie and Houk Green.  She was a lifelong resident of the Liberty community of Morgan County, Tennessee.  She was a loving wife of Archie for many years and devoted mother to her children.  She was a civic minded person serving on various committees and a librarian at Wartburg Public Library, as well as extensive work she did in genealogy for many years.  She made many friends of the people she met over the years.  She was a strong believer in our Savior Jesus Christ.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lillie and Houk Greene; husband, Archie Davis McPeters; brothers, Rueben, Bruce, Johnny and Earnest; sisters, Mae and Helen.

She is survived by 2 children both of Wartburg, Carol Marie (Lonnie) LaRue and Donald Clark (Evelyn) McPeters; grandsons, Todd Davis (Judy) Hamby and Donald Clark McPeters II; great grandchildren, Derrick Ray Davis Hamby, Miss Kayla Marie Hamby and Stephen Travis Hamby; great great granddaughter, Willow Hamby.

The family will receive friends Friday, June 6, 2020 at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg from 2:00-4:00 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 4:00 p.m. with Dr. Paul Frick officiating.  Graveside services will be Saturday, June 7, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Flat Fork Cemetery in Wartburg.
