Sammy J. Maner

Sammy went home to be with our Heavenly Father on January 16, 2021.  He was born August 5, 1943 in Heiskell, Tennessee.  He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.  He earned Bachelor’s Degrees from the University of Tennessee and Georgia Tech University.  He was an electrician and retired from the Tennessee Valley Authority, the Department of Energy Y12, and Denso Manufacturing.  He was a member of Lone Mountain Baptist Church in Robbins, TN.

He is preceded in death by his father Howard and stepmother Edith Maner, mother Anna Marie Franse, sister Phyllis Furnish, brother Carl Maner, brother Wayne Maner, stepdaughter Karen (Lindsay) Hamby, granddaughter Amber Kyle.

He is survived by his wife of over 40 years Pernie (Griffith) Maner, brother Jim Phillips (Little Rock, AR), sister Elaine Casey (Arizona), brother Glen Maner (Loudon, TN), stepdaughter Debie (Lindsay) and David Rausch (Nashville, TN), stepdaughter Betty Jo (Lindsay) and Richard Summers (Wartburg, TN), stepdaughter Patty (Lindsay) and Martin Tanguay (Knoxville, TN), and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Family will receive friends Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg from 10:00 - 12:00 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 12:00 p.m. with Bro. Jeff Chaney officiating.  Interment will follow in the Lone Mountain Cemetery in Robbins, Tn.
