Ruth Anleitner

Ruth Imogene (Gene) Kennedy Barnett Anleitner Age 90 passed away peacefully at Hope Hospice, Lehigh Acres, FL March 15, 2014 surrounded by those who loved her. She was preceded in death by husband, Meril B Anleitner, parents, Fred and Elsie Kennedy, sisters, Letty Raczkowski and Dorothy Heidel, brothers, Roy Kennedy, Farrell Kennedy and Ray Kennedy.
Gene leaves behind her loving daughters, Patricia Barnett (Robert) Squires of Garden City MI and Peggy Barnet t(Michael) Burkeen of Lehigh Acres, FL. Sisters, Marie McCartt, Janice Bogdany and brother, Bill Kennedy. Gene also leaves behind grandson, Matthew (Dina) Squires granddaughter, Marleen (Ralph) Kates of Garden City MI and grandson, Kenneth (Katie) Burkeen of Charleston , SC, Great Grandmother of Ashley (Don) Martin, Zachary (Gladys) Squires, Tyler Kates, Brett Kates, Cassidy Squires, Owen Kates, Khloe Burkeen and Kyle Burkeen, also, many nieces and nephews. Gene leaves behind many wonderful friends whom she dearly loved.
Gene moved to Michigan during WWII. She worked at Burroughs Corporation for many years. Gene was a retired UAW member of Local 1313 Detroit MI. She was a past member of Tyrian Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star in Detroit, Ladies Auxiliaries' of the VFW in both Vincennes Indiana and Lehigh Acres FL. She belonged to the Ladies Auxiliaries' of Knights of Columbus and Seabees in Lehigh Acres, FL. Gene delivered Meals on Wheels for many years and was a member of the Senior Center, Lehigh Acres, FL. She was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church in Lehigh Acres, FL.
The family will receive family and friends Thursday, March 20, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg to celebrate Gene's life. Funeral Services will be at St. Ann Catholic Church, Lancing, TN Friday, March 21, 2014 at 10:00AM with Father Michael Sweeney officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Deer Lodge.
