Russell Scott

Russell Julian Scott age 92 of Oakdale passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013 after lengthy complications from heart surgery. He was a member of Kingston United Methodist Church where he sang in the church choir for many years. Mr. Scott was a veteran of World War II, attended Tennessee Tech University, and graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a major in Transportation. He retired from United Airlines as a Customer Services Supervisor in 1980. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Long Scott and Alta May Clark; wife, Margaret Patching Scott; brothers, John Clark Scott and William Taylor Scott; sisters, Jewell Voss, Mary Caroline Scott, Dorothy Walley, and Bernice Bradshaw; and daughter, Nancy Seay.

He is survived by loving companion, Marge Tedder
Sister, Alice Melton
Son, Gary (Gloria) Scott
Son-in-Law, Rev. Tom (Sandy) Seay
Grandsons, Rev. Paul (Kathleen) Seay, Ryan (Phoebe) Seay, Arthur Scott
Granddaughter, Abigail Scott
Numerous cousins, nieces and nephews

The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 29, 2013 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at Schubert Funeral Home Wartburg. Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 pm with Rev. Todd Chancey and family members officiating.
A graveside service will follow in the Morgan Memorial Gardens, Wartburg, TN.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kingston United Methodist Church, Habitat for Humanity of Morgan County or the Morgan- Scott Project, Deer Lodge, TN.
