Robert Dale Adams, age 57 of Wartburg passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on the morning of November 15, 2011. He was born June 20, 1954 in Knoxville, TN to the late John and Willow Jean Adams. He was a talented football player from a young age until the age of 18 when he volunteered to serve his country as a Combat Engineer for the US Army during the Vietnam War. He passed his love of life, football and the honor of being a soldier to his children and grandchildren. He faced all of life's challenges head on with courage, dignity and strength. His love and dedication to his family will never be forgotten. He will forever live on in the lives he has touched.

Left behind to mourn his loss is the love of his life and soul-mate of 17 years Tina Bell. Children he loved as his own Mark Bell with wife Karrie and Shauna Bell with Jason Carpenter. Grandchildren who were his pride and joy are Konner and Nicolas Carpenter, Kody and Aiden Bell and Ashton and Brekin Crabtree. Sons; Steven Cory and Dwayne Adams and their families. Also survived by siblings; Carolyn, Johnny, Jasper and John Chase as well as a host of family and friends. The people who held a special place in his heart and called family; Mary and Raphial Johnson, Rose Lasher and family, Rhonda Jones and family and Randy Koontz.

The family would like to thank Quality Home Health, Covenant Hospice and very special nurses Denise, Ann and Joyce for their help and support. A very special thanks to all of our family and friends for the unconditional love and dedication they have shown during his courageous battle.

The family will receive friends, Sunday November 20, 2011 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg. Graveside Services will be held Monday, November 21, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. at the Veteran's Cemetery on John Sevier Highway in Knoxville with Reverend Raphial Johnson officiating

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the family to assist with the final expenses.
