Sean Byrge

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Sean Byrge, age 49 of Wartburg, originally from Coalfield.

Sean was a father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his beloved parents Obal and Becky Byrge of Coalfield; maternal grandparents Bill and Myrtle Morgan of Joyner; paternal grandparents Michael and Sarah Byrge of Petros and his oldest brother Cleteth Byrge of Coalfield. He also suffered the heartbreaking loss of the love of his life, Tonya Kennedy in August 2017 after 13 years together. Her passing left a void in his heart that never truly healed.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Jessy (Kayla) Byrge of Celina, Tn., Morgan (Matthew) Byrge of Silver Point, Tn., precious granddaughters Paisley, Maddalyn Byrge who fondly will remember him as “Poppy’. He is also survived by his devoted sister Elaina (Mikey) Kreis of Wartburg and brother, Bill Byrge of Coalfield, both of whom never left his side, loving him through every high and low, his nephews Shane Hooks of Lancing, Brad Byrge of Oliver Springs; niece Caylin (William) Dukes Bultman of Wartburg.

Sean had a passion for life and a love for the open road, often finding peace while riding his Harley. He was a talented artist who expressed himself through drawing and tattooing. Despite the struggles he faced he held onto his faith having been saved by the grace of God. He often spoke of the day he would see Jesus, his mama and his beloved Tonya again.

The family has chosen cremation, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honor Seans memory. 

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in his name to Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg to assist with expenses. 

Sean’s journey on this earth may have ended, but his love, laughter and spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
