Reece Liles

Mr. Reece Liles, age 76 of Petros, went to be with his Lord and Saviour on January 2, 2013. Reece took his last breath at the home he built more than 40 years ago, surrounded by his family. He was born November 27, 1936 to Bill and Ettie Liles. He was preceded in death by his parents along with two sisters Linna Long of Nashville, Rema Ladd and husband R.C. of Rockwood, Brother Roger Liles and wife Peggy of Mossy Grove, sister-in-law: Helen Liles and brother-in-law Henry Davis, both of Petros.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Mrs. Carolyn Liles.

Todd Norman and wife Kelly of Coalfield
William Liles and girlfriend Brenda Smith of Petros
Daughter: Carolee Liles Campbell and beau Travis Heidle of Wartburg
Grandchildren: Jade Hensley, Jeremiah and Daniel Norman, Drake and Sierra Liles, Lauren Norman, Milas and Jubal Campbell and Morgan Liles.
Three Great grandchildren: Austyn, Carrigan and Mason Hensley
Brothers: Ralph and wife Sue Ann Liles, Roy Liles all of Petros
Sisters: Euphemia Weiford and husband Bobby, and Wilma Davis all of Petros
Judy Layne and husband Bill of Wartburg
Also surviving are several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Reece has spent most of his years in his hometown of Petros. After graduating Central High School he studied two years at Tennessee Tech University and then enlisted in the United States Army. He was extremely proud to have been a Veteran and loved telling stories over the years of time spent serving his country. After serving his country he married his high school sweetheart, Carolyn and moved to Cincinnati, Ohio for a short time. Afterwards they moved back to the town they grew up in and built their family home. He began his job at Martin Marietta (then, Union Carbide) and worked there for over 30 years as a master machinist. He retired in 1999.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, attending the sporting events of his children and grandchildren, University of Tennessee sports, hunting and he loved horse racing. He also loved attending church at Petros Baptist where he was a member.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 6, 2013 from 6-8 PM, Schubert Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 8 PM with Bro. Preston Adkins officiating. Graveside services will be Monday 11 AM at the Petros Cemetery.
