Mrs.Reba Nexizola Morgan Payne, of Wartburg, TN, born November 21st, 1915, peacefully went to be with her Lord, Thursday, July 9th, 2009 while residing at her son's home in Knoxville, TN.
Mrs. Payne was a member of First Baptist Church, Wartburg. She came under conviction and was saved as a teenager while attending a revival service in Banner Springs with her grandmother. It is a story that she loved to tell over and over again.

Mrs. Payne (mamaw) was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Ethel Kennedy Morgan; sisters: Gertrude Galloway and Jesse Seneris; brothers: Truman, Vanell, Cleo, Clemon, and William (Bill) Morgan; loving husband of 49 years, William A. Payne; precious daughter, Garneda (Jeanie) Morton; granddaughter, Jonna Leigh Morris; step-children: Ruth Jensen, Lola, Harold, and Ogle Payne.

She is survived by son, Waylan Payne, Knoxville; step-son, Cledys (Joyce) Payne, Clarkrange; step-daughter-in-law, Maureen Payne, Clarkrange; siblings: Lela Leach, Kate Fowler, Erma Conn, and Thurman Morgan; granddaughters: Gale (Steve) Dalton, Sunbright, Terri (Joe) Moore, Knoxville, Denise (Gary) Seiber, Coalfield, Gwyn (Tony) Earl, Knoxville, and Susan (James) Killeffer, Knoxville; grandsons: Waylan (Emily) Payne Jr., Knoxville, Jason Payne, Nashville, James (Nicole) Morton Jr., Knoxville, and Jonathan Payne, Knoxville; 17 great grandchildren, 8 great, great-grandchildren, many loving step grand, great and great, great grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews. The family would like to express appreciation to Jean and Windy with Amedysis Hospice Services and to special care givers, Lisa and Diane. And a special thanks to Bro. James Griffith for his support for mamaw and family.
The family will receive friends Saturday, July 11th, 2009 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Waylan Payne Jr., Rev. Tony Earl, and Rev. Tom Mooty officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
