Mrs. Pearl Smith Scott, age 80 of Deer Lodge went to be with the Lord on Wednesday June 29, 2011 while surrounded by her loving family.
Pearl was a well-known and respected businesswoman, who owned and operated Scotts Grocery for over 40 years. She began by working in the bean fields and shirt factory's to save enough money to purchase the store.
She was a loving, honest and giving person who never met a stranger. Most days she could be found in the garden or working on a quilt or afghan in the store.

She was preceded by her husband; Johnnie Scott, son; Mark Scott, grandson; Johnathon Scott,
parents; Alfred and Vernie Smith, sisters; Edith Smith, Lula Durham, Minnie Smith, Bertie Anderson, Gladys Durham. brothers; Clinton, Thurman, Odis and Charlie Smith.

She is survived by sons; Terry Scott, Roger and wife Loretta Scott,
Daughters; Kathy Carroll and husband Don, Margaret Bowman and special son-in-law Kenneth, Melissa Jones and husband Sam.
Grandchildren; Amos and Avery Morgan, Joann Spurling, Judy Carroll, Donetta Shannon, Kimberly Bowman, Kassey Walker, Kristy Scott, Kendall Bowman, Justin Scott, Jeramy Scott, Miranda Scott.
Great-grandchildren; Houston, Heith, Kole, Levi, Madison, Abby.
Also several nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends Friday evening, July 1, 2011 at Schubert Funeral Home in Sunbright from 6-8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Saturday July 2, 11:00 at Byrd Baptist Church in Sunbright with Bro. Herb Judkins officiating.
Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Deer Lodge, TN
Schubert Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
