Patsy Raney

Patsy Ann Raney age 62 of Wartburg passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville after a short illness. Patsy was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church but also attended churches for any of her niece's special programs. Patsy was a licensed cosmetologist but prided herself as having been an excellent dispatcher, jailer and 911 Operator for the Morgan County Sheriff's Department under former sheriff Bobby Gibson. She was also a former Morgan County Commissioner for the 3rd district and was well known for being a landscape artist and craftsperson. She also worked with the Morgan County Humane Society and was a former member of the Morgan County Rescue Squad.

Patsy was preceded in death by her husband David Raney who was the love of her life and by parents: Charles and Imogene Hamby.

Patsy is survived by a brother who she loved like a son: Billy and wife Dixie Hamby of Wartburg
Sisters: Gail and husband Bruce Henderson of Milledgeville, GA and Tammie and husband Brian "Jake" Jackson of Coalfield.
She is also survived by nephews and nieces: Mitchell and wife Andrea Davis of Nashville, Chris Davis of Wartburg, Megan and Lindsay Jackson of Coalfield, Samantha Hamby of Coalfield and Zach and Emily VanNorstran of Wartburg. Patsy was also nanny to great nephews Hayden and Camden Davis of Nashville and Noah Jackson of Coalfield.
Barb Rodgers, Wayne Potter and Bobby Gibson were considered special friends.
She is also survived by several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends

The family would like to thank Dr. Lucksinger, Dr. Prince and Dr. Estes along with the nurses of CCU and the 4th floor nurses and staff and Ms. Margaret Stewart of Park West Hospital.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral Services will follow at 8:00PM with Bro. Bill Goodman officiating. Graveside services will be Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 11:00AM at Morgan Memorial Gardens, Wartburg, TN.
