Norma Powell

Norma Louise Headrick Powell, age 93, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on May 16, 2017. A life-long resident of White Oak and Pine Orchard communities, she was a faithful member of White Oak Baptist in Oakdale and worked 35 years at Burlington/Kaiser Roth Hosiery Mill, in Harriman, until its closing. She loved studying the Bible, attending church, sewing, quilting, gardening; loved and appreciated good gospel music; talking to people and showing interest in others; and was blessed to have continued these activities until just prior to her passing.

Preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Powell; parents, Fred and Emma Headrick; sister, Elma Grace and husband, Charles (Junior) Grace; brother, W.F. Headrick; sister-in-law, Viola Cagle and husband, Jimmy; brother-in-law, Lawrence Powell and wife, Louise; and sister-in-law, Anna “Polly” Powell.

Survived by daughter, Marilyn and husband Paul; grandchildren, Lucas, Forrest and China, all of Nolensville; sister-in-law, Ruth Headrick of Oakdale; brothers-in-law, Henry Powell of Harriman, Otis (Janet) of Dayton, OH., Everett (Lela) of West Carrollton, OH., George Jr. of Vandalia, OH., and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 3-5 p.m. E.S.T at White Oak Baptist Church, Oakdale with the funeral service following at 5:00 with Rev. Danny Jenkins officiating. Interment to follow immediately at Crab Orchard Baptist Church Cemetery in Oakdale.

Serving as pallbearers will be great-nephews Josh Elam, Richard Grace, Stanley Smith, William Smith, Drew Headrick, Cameron Headrick, Landon Headrick and Bryson Headrick.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to White Oak Baptist Church Mission Fund, Oakdale, TN  37829
