Noel Hughes of Lancing, TN

Noel Oakley Hughes, age 79, a resident of Lancing passed away August 13, 2018 at the LaFollette Medical Center. He was born March 19, 1939 in Lebanon, Virginia. Noel will be remembered as a kind, generous, peaceful and caring man in the years of those who love him and those who journeyed through his life.  He was quite the master gardener, loved the outdoors and fishing. He enjoyed building and repairing just about anything that needed fixed. Noel spoke highly of his family and friends, those in his church and all of the folks at Morgan County Correctional Complex.

He is preceded in death by his father, Orville Hughes; mother, Mary Sue Hughes and 1 sister, Sue Ella Wade.

He is survived by his wife, Geneva Carol Vanover Hughes of Lancing; son, Noel Dane Hughes and wife, Lori of Manassas, Virginia; daughter, Susan Gerstenmaier and husband, David of Norwalk, Connecticut; grandchildren, Christopher, Chelsey, Caitlin Hughes, Ashley J. Thompson; 3 great grandchildren, Wyatt and Wade Hughes and Essa Masood; brother, George Hughes and wife, Peggy of Lebanon, Virginia; sister, Iris Hall of Salem, Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will be having a memorial service at a later date.
