Nina Walker Narhi, age 88, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday evening, July 21, 2009. She was a resident of Windsor House @ Champion. She was born on March 14, 1921 in Sunbright, Tn, the daughter of Lee and Marie Walker.
Her greatest joys in life were her children and grandchildren. She made hundreds of quilts just to give them away to family and friends. She enjoyed her vegetable and flower gardens and watching the birds from her window. She also enjoyed cooking and was well known for her Southern Biscuits and Fried Apple Pies.
She was the beloved mother of Ann (Shirl) Parsons of Warren, Ohio; Troy Duncan of Chardon, Ohio; Linda (Bob) Schwartz of Peru, In.; Ray Duncan of Andover, Ohio; Brenda (James) Hernandez, Pierpont, Ohio and Judy Davis of Macy, In. She had 15 Grandchildren and 20 Great-Grandchildren.
Also surviving are sisters-in-law, Mae Duncan of Miamisburg, Ohio; Ruth Beshears of Gatewood Ford, Tn; Mossie Beasley of Centerville, Tn.; and a brother, George Walker of Sunbright, Tn. and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1st husband, Troy Duncan, 2nd husband, Larry Narhi; brothers, Kenneth, Junior and Reed Walker; and sister, Nellie Summers; and longtime friend, Harley "Dude" Reagan.
Schubert Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Calling hours were held on Saturday, July 25th starting at 11 a.m. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Internment was at Byrd Church Cemetery. Brother Herb Judkins officiated.
In lieu of flowers, Love Donations maybe made to Windsor House @ Champion, 200 E. Glendola, Warren, Ohio, in memory of Nina Narhi.
