March 9, 1918 – January 5, 2019 (Age 100)
Mildred Williams Ruppee, age 100, a lifelong resident of Wartburg, TN passed away Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Life Care Center of Morgan County after a lengthy illness.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Ida Brasel Kreis; husbands, Jackie Williams and Paul Ruppee; daughters, Carol Ann Williams Jones and Lenora Sue Williams; daughter-in-law, Helen Hart Williams and sisters, Ruby Lee and Sarah Kreis.
She is survived by her son, Jerry and Judy Williams; step-daughter, Janice and George Marcum; grandchildren, Joey and Susan Williams, Lynora and Andrew Tidwell and Lance and Jessica McPeters; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Edye-Ann Williams and Noah Price.
Mildred was a long-time member of Wartburg First Baptist Church, having been a member for 87 years. She served the church in many capacities. Mildred taught in the Morgan County Schools and worked at the U.S. Postal Service for 29 years and retired as Postmaster at Wartburg.
“Meemaw” loved her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She was always very active and adventurous. She loved to travel to new places in her camper and motorhome.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 8, 2018 at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Matthew Ward of First Baptist Church/Wartburg conducting the service. Graveside will be Wednesday, January 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Wartburg City Cemetery.
