Mildred Cross

Mildred Goad Cross, age 86 of Mossy Grove, Tennessee passed away Saturday February 23, 2013.
She was a member of Mossy Grove Baptist Church for over sixty years. The only one of her siblings to graduate from high school, she spent her lifetime successfully encouraging her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to pursue educational opportunities. She was an avid gardener and an outstanding cook. She was a loving and nurturing Christian wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ray Cross, granddaughter Jennifer Cross, daughter-in-law Marion Cross, parents H.N. and Sally Newberry Goad, brothers McKinley Goad, Carlos Goad, Cecil Goad, Frank Goad and Fred Goad, sisters Bessie Cornwell, Belva Crowe, Opal Cornwell and Ruby Proffitt.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Bob and Amy Cross of Knoxville, TN, Bill Cross of Grand Junction, TN, Royce and Judy Cross of Mossy Grove, TN.
Grandchildren: William Cross and wife Mary, Bryan Cross and wife Amanda, Ray Carl Cross, Jonathan Harris, Kevin Cross and wife Amanda, Michael Cross and wife Amanda, Matthew Cross and wife Sandra, Robert Cross.
Great-grandchildren: Ireland Cross, Elizabeth Cross, Alex Cross, Quentin Harris, Cheyney Harris, Tyler Cross and Kaylin Cross.
The family will receive friends Monday evening February 25, 2013 at Schubert Funeral Home from 5-7:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow with Rev. Jim Disney officiating.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2013 3:30 p.m. at Morgan Memorial Gardens Wartburg, TN
Schubert Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
