Michael Vann

Michael “Weedle” Bowman Vann, born May 3, 1960 and went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 13, 2016.

Mike is survived by his wife, Barbara Workman Vann of Joyner; his mother, Ursula Vann and the late Paul Vann; son, Matthew Vann and wife Shelby of Joyner; brother, Thomas Vann and his sons, Jordan Vann and Corey Vann; step-daughter, Misty Anderson and husband Mark and step- granddaughters, Lindsey and Cassidy Anderson. He is also survived by several special friends that he considered family, Joel Seaton and David Whitsel.  He will always be remembered and loved.

Mike served in the United States Navy and was Honorably Discharged.  He served as Fire Chief of Joyner Volunteer Fire Department for many years, retired as Deputy State Fire Marshall in 2015.  Mike loved to go hunting, riding and spending time with his family and friends. Mike loved his community and felt it a privilege to serve them as Fire Chief.

The family will receive friends Monday, July 18, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00PM at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg.  Funeral Services will follow at 7:00PM with Bro. Herb Judkins officiating.  Graveside Services will be Tuesday morning at 11:00 AM in the Union Cemetery, Wartburg, TN.
