Michael Phillips, of Clinton

Michael Bruce Phillips, age 63 of Clinton went home to be with the Lord and Savior, August 3, 2021.  Nothing could diminish his love for the Lord, family or playing music.  He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, papaw and friend.  His soul lifted the spirits of all those who met him.  He loved to make people laugh.  He was a coal miner, mechanic, electrician, musician, and master cabinet maker.  He made beautiful instruments and could play them like no other.

He is preceded in death by his father, Elmer Phillips; brothers, Roger Phillips and Jerry Phillips.

He is survived by his loving wife and soul mate of 33 years, Joyce Phillips; son, Cody Woods and Tessa; grandson, Kanaan Woods; mother, Jewel Phillips; sister, Lisa (Tim) Ward; brother, Jeff (Paulette) Phillips; sister-in-law, Loretta Phillips; nieces, Amy Young and Rebekah Parchman; nephews, Eric Austin, Jacob Phillips, Bradley Phillips, and Kevin Ward; great nephews and nieces, Landon Austin, Owen Phillips and Jordyn Phillips and a host of family and friends.

The family will receive friends Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg from 5-7:00 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Kevin Ward and Rev. Eric Austin officiating.  Graveside services will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Phillips Cemetery in Briceville.
