Mary Catherine Blackwell Parrott, 78, of Claxton, TN entered her Heavenly home on Thursday December 19, 2024.
Mary cherished her role as wife to her husband of nearly 58 years, Ed “Foxie” Parrott. She loved being “Mom” to her daughters Bridget and Christy. She was affectionately referred to as “Ginny” by her grandchildren Cale and Cydney.
Mary retired from Oak Ridge City Schools where she prepared and served breakfast and lunch for generations of students. In retirement, she continued to make delicious meals for family gatherings. Mary had the opportunity to travel across America with “Foxie” and see many amazing sights during his time as a long-distance truck driver.
Mary was preceded in death by parents Albert and Mary Blackwell, sisters Barbara Neal and Deborah Lonsway, brother Jerry Blackwell.
Survived by loving husband, Ed “Foxie” Parrott; daughters Bridget (Kevin) McKenzie of Maryville and Christy (James) Sellars of Powell; grandchildren Cale (Taylor) McKenzie and Cydney Sellars (Colby Cooper); step-great-granddaughter Kinsley Headrick and a great-grandbaby due in Spring 2025; brother Syd (Pat) Blackwell of Athens, AL; several cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws.
The family will have a private ceremony prior to entombment at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
