M. Dennis Workapick

Marshall Dennis Workapick, 78, passed away Saturday August 17, 2024, surrounded by family. Also known as Dennis, Denny, Daddy, Papaw, and his personal favorite, Paw. Dennis worked for and retired from K-25 and the Army National Guard. His most prized accomplishment was always his family. He was known for his famous shortcuts and love for good food! For his day to day, you could find him chasing a grandchild or tuning into NCIS. On his best days, he was out traveling to Muddy Pond, Nemo, or a car show. The donut and Cracker Barrel industries will also greatly miss his frequent investments.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Darlene Workapick; parents, Francis Workapick and James “Pop” Workapick; beloved grandparents Clyde Wells, Mabel Wells, and Christine Workapick; uncles Jack and Kenneth Wells, precious Aunt Edna Kirkland; Son-in-law Danny Hendrix and Derek Robbins.

Survivors are children: Katherine Hendrix, Stanley and Noelle White, Elizabeth Workapick, Daniel Workapick; grandchildren: Kayla Davidson, Cea Parten, Patrick Scribner, Ethan Clark, Raine Workapick, Henry Crunkilton, Lucas White, Aniya Workapick, Signe White, Kayden Workapick, Ciyleigh Ascanio and Bryson Smith; great grandson Lucas Parten and great granddaughter Sinta Scribner; Sisters, Phoebe Wills, Patsy Portwood, Connie Gambke, Linda Terry. 

The family will receive friends Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg from 1:00-3:00 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Morgan Memorial Gardens in Wartburg with Military Honors, American Legion Post #149.
