Marilyn Joyce Kennedy Hough passed away October 8, 2016, and was born on February 2, 1932 and the youngest of six children to Phillip and Flonnie Kennedy. Marilyn met and married Fredrick Hough in 1957 and they later divorced.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her middle child Thomas Riley Hough, her brothers Harry, Eugene and Rayburn Kennedy as well as her sisters Mattie Douglas and Lorene Ward.
Ms. Hough is survived by her daughter Mary Lynn Stewart, daughter-in-law Donna Hough Tilson, her youngest son Fredrick John Hough as well as five grandchildren including Kristopher Stewart, Marshall Stewart, Adam Clifford, Jonathan Riley Hough and Nancy Ann Hough. Marilyn also had four Great granddaughters MaKyla Stewart, Regan and Lauren Clifford and Maisee Branch.
Marilyn retired from Highland Telephone Company after almost 40 years. She was a devout Tennessee Vols Fan for women’s basketball and followed the games faithfully. Ms. Hough also worked tirelessly for the Democratic Party and was a moving force in bringing the Habit for Humanity to Morgan County. Marilyn also enjoyed crossword puzzles, collecting shot glasses from around the country and visiting with her good friend Miss Opal Barnett with her daily chats on the phone and all of the family and friends.
The family will receiving friends Wednesday, October 12, 2016 from 5 – 7:00 PM at Schubert Funeral Home in Sunbright with the funeral to follow at 7:00 PM with Bro. Tom Robbins officiating. Graveside will be Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 11:00 PM in the Sunbright Cemetery in Sunbright.
