Lessie Jo Jones

Lessie Jo Jones of Sunbright went to be with her Lord Sunday, Oct. 27. She passed peacefully early Sunday morning, surrounded by her loving family. 

An active member of the Annadell Missionary Baptist Church for the better part of six decades, Jones practiced her Christian values outside the walls of the church as well. She was known for possessing a true servant’s spirit, spending much of her post-retirement years helping those of need in her community.

She was a devoted Mother and Grandmother, enjoyed traveling and was an avid gardener and seamstress. When not on a cross-country bus-ride with a group of her friends, she was often engaged in driving one of them to appointments or running errands for others who were perhaps less mobile than herself. 

Lessie Jo is preceded in death by; parents Jones and Flara Dyer Davis, husband L.C. Jones and grandsons Seth and Simon Coker. Siblings Iva Cromwell, Carson Davis, Retha Bowling and Sam Davis.She also survived the passing of travel-mates and dear friends Christine Cooper, Martha Griffith and Delores Stewart.

She is survived by her loving daughters Sabra Coker, Gina Dyer (Michael), and Crystal Jones, sons Robert “Bobby” Wright, and Bryant Jones, dear niece Susie Bowling Bailey, grandchildren Hayley Dyer, Sarah Stout (Chris), Jesse Dyer (Haley), Eric Crabtree (Shannon)and Shane Crabtree, great grandchildren Norah Stout, Case Dyer, Nolan Stout, Remy Dyer, Sydney Crabtree, Nathan Crabtree, Callie Crabtree, Morgan Crabtree, Payton Crabtree and Baylee Ried and sisters-in-law Wanda Jones and Edna Hunter, as well as a host of family and friends.

The family will receive friends at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg Tuesday, Oct. 29 from 5pm - 7pm funeral service to follow with Bro. Bill Goodman, Bro. Joey Aytes and Bro. Russell Jones officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11am Wednesday, Oct. 30 at Sunbright Cemetery.
