Leamon Shannon

Leamon Stanley Shannon, age 75 of Sunbright went home to be with our Lord, June 26, 2014 at home with his family. Leamon was born January 7, 1939 in Sunbright to Virgil and Linda Shannon. He is preceded in death by Lonnie Shannon, Lonal Shannon, Lloyd Shannon, Vergie Norris, Veachel Robbins, Vercie Peeno and Verdie Seabolt.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years: Shirley Hamby Shannon
Daughter: Jo Ann Shannon Griffin (Jody) and son-in-law Joel Griffin
Son: Jeffrey L. Shannon and wife Charlotte
Three Grandchildren, Two Step-grandchildren and a Great Granddaughter: Brandy Mann, Andrew Shannon, Jackson Griffin, Madison Jo Mann, Jason and John Griffin
Brothers: Phil Shannon and Carl Ooten
Sisters: Veness Diden, Velva Turner, Vonalee Jones and Vinadean Griffith

Leamon served in the U.S. Army and worked as a carpenter. He attended the Church of God of Prophecy, Sunbright.

The family will receive friends Saturday, June 28, 2014 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Schubert Funeral Home, Sunbright. Funeral Services will be Sunday, June 29, 2014 at 2:00PM at The Sonbright Christian Center with Bro. Jerry Robbins officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunbright Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
