Katy Massengill, of Sunbright, TN

Mrs. Katy Karleen Grayson Massengill, was welcomed into the presence of our Heavenly Father and our Savior Christ Jesus, in the evening hour known only to him on Saturday, May 4, 2019.  She was born May 24, 1937, she was 81.

Katy was a resident of the Burrville Community, where she raised her family with her husband of 57 years, Bobby Massengill, who precedes her in death.  She was the loving daughter of the late Walter Thomas and Minnie Hazel Grayson.  She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Frankie Manis and 2 grandsons, Kenneth Lee Ford and Josh Davis; 2 nephews, Lecil Crouch and Rustin Grayson.

Katy leaves her 4 precious children, Kathy (Mike) Carroll of Elizabethtown, Ky., Debbie Massengill of Burrville, Becky Manis of Wartburg and Marvin Massengill also of Wartburg; 11 grandchildren,  Tonya (Paul) Bolling, Dorman (Ashley) Coffey, Tristan Grayson, Jason Jackson, Tosha Bridges, Kayle Dustin, Sophie  Ashton, Dakota Ford, Thomas (Hanna Stevens), Manis and Kristy Davis and 10 great-grandchildren.  Katy also leaves her remaining 3 sisters and 2 brothers, Glenna (Bobby) Waters, Wyvonnia Dillard (Carl Di Petro), W.F. Odell Grayson, Rita Yates (Jeff Carr), Eddy (Kim) Grayson and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg from 5:00-7:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be at Bethel Baptist Church, Thursday at 3:00 p.m. with Bro. Robert Freels officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Grove Cemetery in Sunbright.
