Mrs. Kathleen Ott Williams Shacter, age 90, born in Morgan County, passed away Friday, September 21, 2012. She was also a resident of Knoxville; Oak Ridge; Stamford, CT; and Kingston, TN. She graduated from Central High School in Knoxville and the University of Tennessee with degrees in Home Economics and Physical Education. She met her husband of 65 years, John Shacter, in Oak Ridge, where they both worked on the Manhattan Project. They enjoyed folk dancing, singing, living on Watts Bar Lake, and playing bridge. She was also an avid golfer.
She is survived by her husband John Shacter, engineer and management consultant

Grandchildren: Jessica Lundin, Matthew Van Voorhees, Benjamin Lundin, and Ellen Van Voorhees

Ellen Williams Perkins of Sevierville, TN
Funeral Services will be Sunday, September 23, 2012; 3 P.M. at Schubert Funeral Home Wartburg, with Pastor John McCarty officiating, interment will follow in the Wartburg City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to A.C.T. Adult Community Training c/o Bill Reynolds 5410 Hwy North Lenior City, TN 37771
