Our beloved mother, Junnie Mae Phillips, age 89 went to be with Jesus on December 14, 2024. She left this world peacefully surrounded by her loving family.
She received Jesus as her savior in her teen years. She loved the Lord and was evident in her life.
Our family are still in awe of how both mom and dad were able to care and provide for us so well in spite of work and other obligations. Dad held down 2 jobs plus doing mechanical repairs for neighbors, except for when mom was expecting she always held down a job yet was also full-time mom. We always felt loved and were. Mom was a skilled multi-tasker. Able to bounce a kid on her hip while doing laundry, getting breakfast while combing out hair she didn’t waste a minute she and dad made a formidable team as parents, providers, and protecters. These traits were forged at an early age as both our parents were born into the depths of great depression to parents who knew what hard work was all about. The lessons learned from her parents, Roy and Mable Jones, were ever present and served her well.
Mom and Dad’s faith in Jesus Christ is the glue that held our family together and all things “radiated” from him being at the center. While dad was instrumental with our spiritual need’s mom was the one who ensured that we learned about the Lord and how much he meant to us. We were eternally grateful for both our parents and consider them a gift from God!
Junnie Mae is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Charles; parents Roy and Mable Jones; brother Willard Jones; sister Kay Freels, Daisy Churchwell; brother Billy Jones; father and mother-in-law Charles and Mable Phillips; sister-in-law Geneva Phillips and sister-in-aw Mary Meyers.
June is survived by her sons Robert (Missy) Phillips, Randy (Julie) Phillips, Raymond, Ronnie, and Roger (Nellie) Phillips; sisters Wanda, Eva, Fay, and Becky; brothers David, Dennis; grandchildren Rhonda, Amber, Joshua, Emma, Clint, and Matthew; in-laws Lewis and Fay Phillips, and Lula and Bill Bullard; 7 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mom loved her whole family without reservation. How do you render down a life of almost 90 years into a few lines? Impossible! Yet will be remembered as loving wife and mother, a friend you could count on in need, prayer warrior, loving grandmother and aunt, and beloved sister.
A special heartfelt “Thank You” goes out to mom’s dear friend Linda Wilson whose sacrifice and unwavering support and personal attention were indispensable in helping to care for our mother without whom we would have been at a great loss. Thank you so much Linda!
Thank you to all who sent up prayers and expressed their love in so many ways. Your support has seen us through this difficult time, and we remain in your debt.
Thank you to Quality Home Health Network of care providers both from the Hospice and long-term home care we were deeply moved by the close personal attention you gave to mom. In spite of a staggering work load you attended to her needs more as daughters than outsiders. Anytime day or night you would respond. Special shout out to Whitney and Carrie.
