Joseph Metzler

Rev. Joseph C. Metzler passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge.
He was born January 12, 1918 in Hamilton, Ohio. He was Honorably Discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps in 1945. He was also retired from General Motors in Ohio with over 30 years of service. He was preceded in death by Three wives: Ruby Melton, Jeanette Frederick and Ruth Roach, his parents: Joseph A. and Mayme Metzler and one grandson: Brian Barnes.

Surviving Rev. Metzler are four Children born to him by Ruby Melton: Kenneth Metzler, and Karen Smith both of Hamilton OH, Lawrence Metzler, Ramona CA and Lianne Huling of Bitter Creek, TN.
Grandchildren: Daniel Barnes, Joseph Barnes, Alicia Hall and Brandon Huling.
2 Special Nephews: Johnny Farris and Bobby Creech
He also leaves many Great Grandchildren and Step-Children whom he dearly loved.

Joseph was a much loved musician and singer, well known by many in Roane and Morgan Counties.

The family will receive friends Friday, September 26, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00PM at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral Services will follow at 7:00PM. Gravesides Services will be at 1:00PM Saturday, September 27, 2014 in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Kentucky.
