Joe Phipps of Gatlinburg

Joe Phipps, 60, of Gatlinburg formerly of Sunbright, TN passed away at 12:43 p.m., August 14, 2018 at his home. He was born and raised in Sunbright, TN and was of the Baptist faith.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Lee and Minnie Marie Phipps; brother, Sam and Bill Phipps and sister, Josephine Phipps.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Shirley Brown Phipps; children, Joshua Ezar Brown, Selena Nicole Phipps and William Joseph Phipps; 2 granddaughters, Emma Paige Vincent and Evelynn Scarlett Vincent; brother, Tim Hall; sister, Tina Lavender and nephews, Derrick and Logan Lavender.

The family will receive friends Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 11:00 – 12:00 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg with the funeral to follow at 12:00 p.m. with Bro. Charles Webb officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Grove Cemetery in Sunbright.

Schubert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Mr. Joe Phipps.
