Oakdale

Jim Kilby age 56 of Oakdale, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024 at his home. Jim was a member of Redemption Baptist Church, Mountain Shadow Cruisers Car Club and the Operators Union – Local 917, as well as a racecar driver back in the day at the Wartburg Speedway. He was a Master Logger and always found peace in the woods when he logged. You may have seen him on the road many times in his white Mack Truck that he loved, hauling dirt and gravel for a lot of people. He had many other trades and could do anything that he set his mind to. He was a hard worker and never met a stranger. If you ever met him, he would leave you with fond memories. He will be greatly missed. We know that Heaven will be sweeter now for we know that he was saved. He loved his church and Pastor Mike Nelson.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Nettie Jane Kilby, and his brother Stevie Kilby.

Jim is survived by his loving wife Michelle, and his daughter Lindsey and husband Brett Trout, sons Adam and wife Chelsie Kilby, Jake and wife Shameka Kilby; stepchildren Thomas and wife Heather Byrd, Daniel and wife Brittney Byrd, Ashley and husband Michael Roberts, Timothy and wife Laci Burnette.

His grandchildren; Lakynn and Shelby Trout, Reese, Wallace and Eliza Kilby. Step- grandchildren; Lyrik and Kadence Roberts, Jayci and Jackson Burnette, Abbi, Lance, Lydia, Lexi Carson and Grayson Byrd.

Sister Marie and husband Jackie Neal. Sister inlaws and brother-inlaws; Donna Capps, Frankie and Lloyd Alan Paxton, Keith and Pam Smith and James Bray.

Several nieces, nephews and cousins. His very special friends were Charlie Carter, Joe and Justin Langley, Larry and Vaugh Swint and special brother-inlaw and friend Lloyd Alan Paxton. He had so many friends and it would be hard to list them all.

Jim’s family will receive family and friends on Monday, July 29,2024 at Schubert Funeral Home of Wartburg from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00am at Schubert Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Nelson presiding and interment will follow at Mossy Grove Cemetery in Mossy Grove, Harriman.
