Love the people God gave you because He will need them back one day.

Jessie Odessa Smith born February 11, 1932 passed on to a new adventure July 10, 2016.

She spent 84 years making everyone around her feel special. Whether you were family, friend, co-worker or meeting Jessie for the first time, she flashed you that beautiful smile that came from her heart and warmed your heart.  She was tirelessly selfless, always doing for others. She cooked everyone's favorite dish, ironed, delivered flowers, mowed her yard and sometimes her neighbor's, cleaned the church building with her best friend Nell.

She wanted everyone to get a Christmas card and a birthday card. She only stopped sending them as her memory failed for fear of leaving someone out. She lost countless games of rummy with a smile on her face. She listened to our stories with an interested ear. She was a true example of unconditional love. The only sadness she ever caused was the sadness we felt from her passing. She lives on in our hearts and mind always. Please keep her legacy alive by greeting everyone you see with a great big warm Jessie smile.

The family will receive friends Saturday, July 16, 2016 from 1:00 to 3:00PM at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg, TN.  A  Celebration of Jessie’s Life will follow at 3:00PM with Tom Rayford officiating.  Interment will be in the Kubley Cemetery, Lancing, TN.
