Jerry Holmes

Mr. Jerry Wayne Holmes, 74 years of age, of Knoxville, TN., departed this life Wednesday, October 14, 2015. Jerry was born August 5, 1941, to the union of his parents, John W. and Nora Rose Holmes. His early years were spent in Sylacauga, Alabama, where he graduated from B.B. Comer Memorial High School and later graduated from the University of Auburn in 1964. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Scott Paper Kimberly Clark for 34 years where he was an electrical engineer and was later a Senior Computer Scientist at his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Nora Holmes; wife, Christine Glory Holmes, sisters, Sara Delois, Martha Frances, Johnnie Lou,
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Cathy Bates Rouse Holmes; children, Elizabeth Holmes Whelan, Michael and wife Dewana Holmes, Danny and wife Tracy Rouse, Amy and husband James Conrad.
Brother, James Holmes
Sister, Brenda Sharlene.
Grandchildren Kennth Whelan, Lauren Little, Seth Whelan, Peter Bonfiglio, Cheyenne Bonfiglio, Brandon Holmes, Wesley Rouse, Wade Rouse, Abigail Eubanks, Michael Conrad, Erica Conrad and a very special granddaughter Calie Rouse, who made her home with Jerry and Cathy. Calie and Jerry spent many happy hours together.
Great grandchildren: Emma Grace Bonfiglio, Weston Rouse, with a new great grandchild on the way.
He was a charter member of Bethel-Grace Freewill Baptist Church in Lancing, TN.
Serving as pall bearers are Danny Rouse, James Conrad, Wesley Rouse, Michael Conrad, Peter Bonfiglio, and Wade Rouse.
Funeral arrangements are Saturday, October 17, at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg. The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. The funeral services will follow immediately with Bro. Rick Taylor officiating with burial following at the Sunbright Cemetery.
