Jane Freytag

Sarah Jane Freytag was born in Pennsylvania on October 19, 1936. She eventually settled in Illinois where she met her husband to be Gene Freytag. They moved out of the city and made their forever home in Sunbright where they raised their family. They had eight children together, Jane loved her church, and most of the grandchildren were raised in church as members of Sunbright First Baptist. She loved her church and the Lord and those were her number one priority. She gave unconditional love to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She took pride being a woman of God, mother grandmother, and she will be dearly missed.

Jane is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Estella Brown; husband Gene Freytag; sons Randy Freytag, and Wendell Freytag.

She leaves behind her children April (Alan) Jones, Becky Douglas, David (Lou) Freytag, Daniel Freytag and special friend Tammy, Tim (Teresa) Freytag, Lori (Ken) Makins; grandchildren Joe, Raven, Kristy, BJ, Whitney, Jericho, Kendra, Daniel, Jordan, Courtney and Natasha and Jacob. A host of great grandchildren that she loved to spend time with.

The family will receive friends Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Sunbright First Baptist Church from 1:00-3:00 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike Hammonds and Rev. Don Edwards officiating.  Interment will follow in the Sunbright Cemetery in Sunbright.
