James Powers

James Gordon Powers, age 65 of Oakdale went home to be with the Lord Sunday, October 9, 2011. He was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church. He dealt with antiques and elegant junk but mostly in friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; Luther and Elsie Morrison Powers and one son, Corey Justin Powers.

He is survived by one son: Casey Powers of Dalton, Georgia, granddaughter; Kayla Peterson
Sisters; Ima Sutton of Grant, Alabama and Dorothy Kaufman of Lebanon, Ohio
Brothers: William Powers of Petros, Donald Powers and Thomas Franklin Powers both of Oakdale.

At his passing we go with the eternal hope of another meeting in our eternal home. Godspeed and good flight our brother.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 11, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m.at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 11:00a.m. also at Schubert Funeral Home with Bro. John Underwood officiating. Interment will follow at Crab Orchard Cemetery in Oakdale.
