James Newport

James Newport 69, passed away at his home in Wartburg on November 20, 2016.

To his family he was known as "Cotton", to his friends he was known as "Big Boy", to us he was known as a husband, daddy and papaw.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father Johnny and Glenna Marie Newport. Brothers, William, Charles, Lonnie and Tony Newport. Sisters, Helen and Virgie Newport, Linda Sorrells and Wanda Gunter. Son-in-law Willie Egbert.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years Wanda (Brown) Newport of Wartburg. Daughters, Karen Newport and Esther Egbert and a granddaughter, Breana Egbert all of Wartburg. Brother, David (Debi) Newport of Cincinnati OH, sister, Wilma (Buck) Collins of Tunnel Hill Ga.

Host of family and friends that will miss him dearly.

The family will receive friends, Saturday November 26, 2016 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home in Sunbright with the graveside service to immediately following in the Sunbright Cemetery.
