James Evans

James "Jim" Carr Evans, 69, of Clinton, Tennessee, passed in peace on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 unexpectedly of a heart attack at his home.
Jim was born at his family home on August 17, 1944 in Petros, Tennessee to Bob and Imogene (Whitus) Evans. He graduated from Wartburg High School in 1962. Jim loved his country and served three years in the United States Army stationed in Germany. On February 8, 1966 he married his loving wife of 37 years Brenda Lloyd Evans. He was a member of the Black Diamond Masonic Lodge #625 Petros, TN, Eastern Star Sunrise Chapter #364 Petros, TN, and Petros United Methodist Church. Jim was employed with AT&T and retired with over 44 years of service. He enjoyed his work and was a gracious and generous provider to his family and friends. He was a true southern gentleman, with a great sense of humor who enjoyed a good prank every now and then - his laugh will be missed. He spent a lot of his time on his back porch with his friends and family and enjoyed cooking on his grill.
