Jack Wilson

Mr. Jack Dean Wilson, age 80, of the Joyner Community, passed away Monday March 7, 2011 in the Park West Medical Center in Knoxville. He had been a resident of Ben Atchley Veterans Home in Karns, TN for the past several months.
He was a devoted husband, adoring father, doting papaw, loving brother and friend to all that knew him.
He was preceded in death by parents, Clifford Wilson and Mamie Johnson Wilson, sisters, Maxine Wilson Sweat and Carolyn Sue Wilson Fudge;
Brothers, Estel and Vernon Wilson.

Jack had unwavering faith in God that was evident throughout his life; he was a dedicated member of Liberty Baptist Church Wartburg where he was an active part of the "good looking" Senior Adult Men's Sunday school class, which was taught by Glen Duncan. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, member of the American Legion. He was retired from the Tennessee State Highway Department, where he worked for over 41 years.
He not only took pride in his family, but also truly relished the friends he made throughout his life. He was an avid collector who could always find a bargain.
He also enjoyed hunting and being outside on his tractor. Jack loved to travel and visit new and exciting places. During his travels he was able to visit 48 states. Some of his fond memories were of the Grand Canyon, San Francisco, Las Vegas, New York City and Jackson Hole, Wyoming. He also loved going on bus trips with his wife Imogene, which were led by Jerome and Freida Rogers.
To try to explain what kind of a person Jack Wilson was in a few paragraphs is virtually impossible. But he was one of the most unselfish and loving individuals you could ever meet. He was always willing to give of his time, gifts, and talents every opportunity he got. He always had a joke and a smile for everyone. To say he will be missed is an understatement.
