J. Morris

Mr. J.M. Morris, age 70 of the Joyner Community, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, September 20th, 2009. He was a member of the Fork Mountain Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Shaller and Maybell Morris; brothers, Larry Wayne Morris and Benny Morris; sister: Diane Morris, all of Lafollette.

He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 53 years, Dollie Phillips Morris; daughter: Delithe Jones of Joyner; grandsons: Jason Burgess and fiance, Allison Gann and their son, Isaac of Coalfield, Phillip Burgess of Joyner; granddaughter, Crystal Burgess Abercrombie and husband, Heath of Wartburg; great grandson: Tyler Burgess (papaw's little buddy); brothers: Don Morris and wife, Marie of Lafollette, Roger Morris and fiance, Toni of Lafollette, Randel Morris and wife, Mary of Clearfield, Vick Morris and wife, Donna of Lafollette, Gary Morris of Tellico Plains, and Joe Morris and wife, Ranata of Lafollette; sisters: Sue Chadwell and husband, Jack of Jacksboro, Brenda Parker and husband, Wayne of Caryville, Fay Phillips of Lafollette, Kay Rogers and husband, Tommy of Lafollette, and Vivian Comer of Lafollette; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends; and a special friend, Johnny Byrge of Oliver Springs.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Odis Phillips and Rev. Ralph Wilson officiating. A graveside service will be held Thursday, September 24th at 2:00 p.m. in the Union Cemetery.
