Ida Aytes

Please allow us to tell you about our mother who left us on Oct 5, 2015. Ida (Shepherd) Wright- Aytes was always our hero and now she is a hero to many. Mom, died fighting a fire in her apartment at Clinch River Apartments located in Wartburg, TN. Mom kept the fire contained to her apartment by putting it out with a fire extinguisher and before succumbing to the deadly smoke, along with her fur baby Baxter.
Ida is proceeded in death by son, Coy Lynn Wright and daughter Crystal Renea Wright-Watson, Parents: Millard and Lela Virgie Shepherd, Brothers: Millard (Cowboy) and Charles (Chalk) Shepherd, Sisters: Corine Wilson, Betty Baily, Bobbie Woods-York
She is survived by children: Teresa Shepherd-Shannon of Wartburg, Robert (Amy) Wright of Rocky Top (Lake City), Brian (Rita) Wright of Wartburg, Karen Wright of Oliver Springs
17 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren,
2 Sisters: Margie (Shepherd) Hawn-Malicoat of Lafollette, Shirley (Shepherd) Thomas of Wartburg.
She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mom was saved and a member of the Covington Baptist church. She loved family time and socializing on FB media with them and her friends all over the area, she would help anyone who needed her help, she was a loving mom, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was one in a million, she is now called a hero for many but to her children, she was always our hero.
The family will receive friends Saturday, October 10, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00PM and Sunday, October 11, 2015 from 1:00PM to 3:00PM at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral Services will follow at 3:00PM with Bro. David Dial and Bro. Troy Wilson officiating. Interment will be in the Covington Cemetery, Wartburg, TN.
