Howard J. Hart passed away at his home in Ashdown, Arkansas on Sunday, September 11, 2011. Born on May 11, 1922, he was 89 years old. He was the son of the late Edd and Blanch Hart of Wartburg. Howard attended Petros Elementary School, graduate of Wartburg Central High School, and the University of Tennessee in Knoxville where he earned a degree in Electrical Engineering. Howard was a Veteran of the Navy Seabees and served during World War II. He was retired plant engineer of Arkansas Cement. He attended Millwood Baptist Church in Ashdown. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters; Mildred Dillon and June Basler, Brother; Alvin Hart.
Howard is survived by his wife for 65 years, Jackie Bradley Hart formerly of Petros. Also surviving are sons: Howard Jr. (Susan) of Shreveport, Louisiana, Brad (Kim) of Austin, Texas, James David of Ashdown; special niece Brenda June Basler, several other nieces and nephews, seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at the New Petros Cemetery on Friday, October 7 at 11:30am.
