"Preacher" Homer C. Hooks of Wartburg, born March 22, 1915 passed away January 24, 2015. He spent over 70 years ministering the Word of God at several area churches. He was also an avid wood worker who is famous for his turkey calls. Until his health prevented him, he could often be found in the woods hunting turkey and deer.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years; Dorothy Davis Hooks, son; Floyde "Ray" Hooks,
parents; Thorton and Lillian Loveday Hooks, sons-in-law; Howard Sweat and Vernon Hamby,
6 sisters, 2 brothers.
He is survived by daughters; Estelene Sweat and Phyllis Morris,
Grandchildren; Larry (Barbara) Sweat, Teresa Sweat (Eddie) Lane, Krystal Hooks, Tonya Hamby (Kevin) Anderson, Terry Hamby.
Great-grandchildren; Brian Bunch, Gerald Bunch, Stephanie Davis, Gabriel Lane, Tashena Lane,
Shay, Raven and Brooklyn Anderson, Jazmin Hamby.
Great-great-grandchildren; Dalton Lane, Brittany, Kristen, Colin and Bailey Bunch, Lauren and Katie Davis.
Special friend; Dr. Robert Fuller.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, January 27, 2015 at Schubert Funeral Home from 4-7:00 p.m.
Funeral services will follow with Rev. Mack Smith officiating.
Graveside services will be Wednesday January 28, 1:00 p.m. in Anderson Memorial Gardens, Clinton, TN
